  I was on a business trip and stayed in Golden Apple for a good location - just stone's throw from the office. It was my first time there. They delivered good value - nice service by smiley girls, awesome breakfast. Since it's a "boutique hotel" they have funny stuff around like a huge apple in the lobby or flexible lights in rooms. Proximity is really convenient. I walked to see the Kremlin and it took me 15 minutes. Also there is plenty of cafes and restaurants around in case you want to get extra dining experience.

  Really great hotel in nicely renovated historic building with classically modern interiors of high style, great showers and room ammenities. Breakfast was spectacular and staff is very helpful and speak adequate english. Exchange rate is very high and is negotiable.

  This is a fine hotel in many ways: it's got great bathrooms and a great location. BUT: don't be surprised if the price when you arrive is different than what you booked online. The reason will be that this hotel charges you according to THEIR rate of exchange to the ruble, not the bank rate like most other top hotels. We complained and as a result saved ourselves about 20%. We didn't like this surprise. Also, email costs as much per minute as it should per hour.
